What to see in in the region?
Alcaucin is a wooded place with stunning views, decorated with olive trees, orange trees, almonds, etc. You will also see some foxes, mountain goats, birds of prey or chameleon.
Inside the village you will find the nice little church Nuestra Señora del Rosario and the well known spring “Fuente de los cinco caños".
“The 7th heaven” is looking straight into the Boquete de Zafarraya . Very old human remains were found here, for example the jaw of a Neanderthaler. This brings archaeologists to assume that this area was most probably one of the first settlements of the province of Málaga.
At 8km of our guesthouse, you have the breathtaking lake of La Viñuela where you can organize your pick nick or BBQ. It is a nice place for windsurfing, kite, fishing and all non motorized sports (canoe etc). We also organize small trips on the lake with our 8x8 amphibian Argo, especially equipped with an electric motor.
The seaside resort Torre Del Mar is only 25 minutes away. You will find nice boulevards with loads of small restaurants and “tapa-bars”, shops, lounge bars, discos etc. It is a typical Spanish seaside resort, but still not overcrowded by mass tourism.
Nerja: A very attractive and original centre with many narrow little streets alternating with flowered patios. In the old centre, you will find the “Balcon de Europa” with its breathtaking views, 23 m above sea level, upon a protruding cliff.
In the famous “Cuevas de Nerja” (Caverns) you can admire the biggest stalactite. And then there is the white village of Frigliana, awarded several times with the title of most beautiful village of Andalusia.
